A new location of Baked Bear, the California-born franchise, is planning to open in Wynwood, franchisee Melanie Bell told FFBW. Bell recently opened a unit of Baked Bear in Miami Beach at: 909 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139. This unit has been open since May.
The new location is planning to open in Spring 2024, Bell said. It will appear at 70 NW 25th St, Miami, FL 33127, in the forthcoming Almi development.
The Baked Bear brand is known for its delicious cookies, brownies and ice cream, which they combine into sandwiches. Miraculously, they manage to hot press the cookie and ice cream sandwiches without melting them. At any give time, they offer a selection of 12 cookie and ice cream choices.

Habana Con B
A new Cuban restaurant is planned to open in Miami soon, co-owner Laurent Santana told FFBW. Habana Con B will be designed to reflect old colonial style homes and businesses in Havana, Cuba.
Santana expects to open the restaurant in a month or a month and a half. Once opened, they will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Expect to find the nostalgic, Cuban-inspired Habana Con B at: 1005 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33130.
La Mexicana Taco Bar
The La Mexicana Taco Bar is planning to open their next outpost in the historic home of 925 Nuevos Cubanos at: 925 N Andrews Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311. Co-owner John Wheldon confirmed with FFBW that he and Diva Names are planning to open the outdoor window service by January of next year.
As for the interior, Wheldon is unsure how long it will take, as they are dealing with permitting to open up the space. Wheldon estimates that once complete, the indoor space will be a similar size to that in their Wilton Manors location. Additionally, they will likely increase their tapas offerings in the new location.
PALM BEACH COUNTY
DalMoros Fresh Pasta to Go
Franchisee David Caruso reported to FFBW that he is planning to open a new location of DalMoros Fresh Pasta in West Palm Beach. Caruso reported that the unit will likely open in 6-8 weeks.
The Italian-born brand has restaurants throughout the state. Caruso is the franchisee of several across South and Central Florida.

Wickies Lighthouse Restaurant & Magic Bus on Sanibel
Co-owner Bridget Kolshak reported to FFBW that she, her husband Max, and partners Brian and Elke Podlasek are opening two new concepts that will neighbor each other in a strip development.
Wickies Lighthouse Restaurant will be an American-style restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast and lunch offerings will be casual, but for dinner, the group will provide a more upscale experience with nicer dishes than the usual American-style diner. The Kolshaks owned the former Island Cow (a casual restaurant) and The Mad Hatter (an upscale full service restaurant), and Bridget described Wickies Lighthouse as a common ground between the two.
Magic Bus on Sanibel will be a dessert and coffee shop stylized after the 1960's VW bus. They will serve a range of ice creams and coffees, and will be just two doors down from Wickies, so that guests can stroll over after a meal and have dessert.

Piesanos Stone Fired Pizza
Owner Jerry Roberts told FFBW that he is planning to open a new location of Piesanos in Viera next year. Still very early on the in the project, Roberts reported that the landlord is building the property where the pizzeria will open.

SlobOnACob Food Stand
A new street corn brand is coming up in central Florida. Owners Andrew Gonzalez and Martin Flowers told FFBW that their business, SlobOnACob has recently opened and is seeing a lot of popular demand.
Their dishes include fried corn, Mexican corn, corn on the cob, and several different flavors and seasonings to bring the cobs to life. You can find out more about their business by following their Facebook page.
They frequently pop up as a stand at farmer's markets and other community events. They regularly attend the Hunter's Creek Farmer's Market, which is held every third Sunday of the month.
As the brand grows, Gonzalez said that they hope to expand into a trailer, which may occur by the end of the year.
The South Florida born chain Vicky Bakery is making way into Orlando, franchisee Dione Brady told FFBW. The new restaurant is currently under construction, and Brady is expecting it to be turned over to her and her team by November.
As of now, Brady doesn't have an opening estimate to share, given how much work is needed to be done.

Hot Bunns Food Truck
A new food truck is gearing up to open in the Orlando area, co-owner Eugenio Mora told FFBW. Hot Bunns is planning to open on the 28th of this month.
Mora told FFBW that Hot Bunns will specialize in serving Costa Rican-style fast food, which includes latin style hot dogs, fries, and beyond. Discover more about the brand on their Facebook and pay attention for official announcements for opening and future events.
Zaza Cuban Comfort Food
A new location of Zaza Cuban Comfort Food is planning to open in Casselberry, owner Ruben Perez told FFBW. The new restaurant is early on in their development phase, having recently signed a lease, and they are expecting to open next summer.
The brand is known for their Cuban coffee, food, and pastries. You can read more about their menu here. Perez leads Zaza Cuban Comfort Foods, but also works with several other brands, airports, and convention centers. His food and beverage operations are prominent in the Orlando Convention Center and several of the airports throughout Central Florida.

Barros Super Market
A new Brazilian super market and restaurant is coming to Kissimmee soon, co-owner João Leandro told FFBW. Barros Super Market will provide the local residents with Brazilian foods and groceries, like Brazilian BBQ and more.
Currently, they are building out the business and expect to open by the end of the year. Keep tabs on them by following their Instagram.

Your Happy Place
A new dessert and soda shop is coming to Kissimmee soon, co-owner Matt McCarl told FFBW. Your Happy Place is owned by Tyra and Matt McCarl, who were the original owners of Breck's Gourmet Cookies, which they've since sold.
McCarl told FFBW that they will serve the delicious cookies that were provided at the former bake shop, along with an extensive selection of sodas. Like many soda shops out west (where the McCarl's are originally from), Your Happy Place will have many different ways to spice up and add flavor to your drinks.
Additionally, Your Happy Place may offer small bites and other food options.
Rockefeller's - A Modern Speakeasy
A beer and wine bar centered around the legacy of industrial titan JD Rockefeller is planned to open next month in Ormond Beach. Rockefeller's - A Modern Speakeasy is opening by way of entrepreneur and realtor Slate Gray, who has previously owned post workout smoothie shops that he's since sold.
The bar will emulate the historical era of Rockefeller, and they will have events every night, from latin night (featuring latin food trucks), live music, and other entertainment. Given that Rockefeller used to live in Ormond Beach, Gray is paying an elegant homage to the magnate.
Rockefeller's is scheduled to open on November 1st, Gray reported. Expect beer and wine offerings, along with wine cocktails as Gray awaits liquor licensing. They will also serve charcuterie boards, pizza, and other snacks.

Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ
A new location of Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ is in the works for Lady Lake, co-franchisee Michael Jones told FFBW. The new restaurant is planned to open on January 15.
Jones said that they will start construction on November 15. In the meantime, he and his brother, Philip Jones, are looking for other potential locations to open addition units of Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ.

Barks and Brews
A new indoor, off-leash dog park and tap house is opening in Seminole soon, owner Rian Fehrman told FFBW. The brand's vision is to have a place where friendly dogs and people can gather together to enjoy a drink and time with their pets.
Barks and Brews will have a 7,000 square foot indoor area to escape the weather and drink at the bar. Additionally, they will also have a 3,000 square foot outdoor area for playing. Both the indoor and outdoor zone will be off leash. Fehrman said that all dogs will be screened for vaccinations and immunizations.
Tampa will soon welcome a new location of Duck Donuts, franchisee Reginald Anderson told FFBW. Duck Donuts is a growing chain based out of Duck, North Carolina.
Reginald reported that he and his wife, Michelle are making their first foray into restaurant ownership with this location. They are nearly finished with construction, Anderson said, and they don't have an official opening date to announce. The address for the business is: 14926 N Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, FL 33618.
Anderson also reported that they are scouting for another location in the Tampa area as well.
Damn That's Good Food Truck
A new food truck is in the works for the Tampa area, owner Gina Murray told FFBW. Damn That's Good doesn't have an opening date yet. Murray is trying to sort out the final details to get her business open.
Two new locations of the breakfast, brunch, and lunch cafe are coming to the Bradenton and Lakewood Ranch area, co-owner of the brand Kelly Milton told FFBW. Toasted Yolk has locations in several states across the country.
The first location to open will be in Bradenton at: 5578 Cortez Rd W b, Bradenton, FL 34210. Milton estimates that it will be up and running by the end of the year.
Next, they will open opening near Lakewood Ranch sometime in the spring of 2024 at: 6564 University Pkwy #122, Bradenton, FL 34202.

Charley's Cheesesteaks and Wings
A new location of Charley's Cheesesteaks and Wings is opening in Bradenton, owner Mena Kahlil told FFBW. Kahlil reported that they are amidst construction right now and are hoping to open during the first week of December.
Kahlil owns several other locations of Charley's, and he is planning to continue expanding in the area. This particular location will open at: 2911 53rd Ave E, Bradenton, FL 34203.
