Welcome back to the Florida Food and Beverage Weekly round up! It's been another eventful week of research and interviewing.

DADE COUNTY

Bar Tulio's

A new Mexican restaurant, bar and lounge is in the works for Miami. Bar Tulio's, a sister concept to Tulio's Tacos and Tequila Bar, will bring an elevated dining and drinking experience to Miami.

Owner Brian Parenteau told FFBW that they will serve traditional and non-tradition Mexican and Tex-Mex items. They plan to have small entertainment acts, like DJ's and 1-2 person performances.

35-40% finished with construction, Parenteau expects to open as soon as April. Keep an eye out for them at: 2839 NW 1st Ave, Miami, FL 33127.

Wok On Wheels

A new food truck is debuting in the Miami area soon, owner John Tellis told FFBW. Wok on Wheels will serve a wide range of cuisines, from Asian, American, Italian and Mediterranean.

Wok on Wheels is slated to open in February, Tellis said.

BROWARD COUNTY

Piman Cafe

A new Haitian-based Caribbean cafe is coming to Lauderdale Lakes soon, co-owner Wilguins Edmond told FFBW. Piman Cafe is set to open toward the end of February.

The cafe will be a blend of a full-service restaurant and a quick service takeout spot. Edmond said that whether or not they serve alcohol will depend on county and city permitting.

Currently, they are waiting on paperwork to come back so they can ready their space at: 2542 N State Rd 7, Lauderdale Lakes, FL 33313.


Eve's Bakery and Restaurant

A new American and Caribbean restaurant is in the works for Tamarac, owner Evelie Francois told FFBW. The restaurant is early in the development stage and is working on getting permits to build out their space. The plan is to open in March.

Francois said that the restaurant will be full service. She's owned one other restaurant in the past. We can expect to find them at: 10032 W McNab Rd, Tamarac, FL 33321.


Soul Food Heaven

A new food truck is opening soon in Hollywood, owner Levetta Spencer told FFBW. Soul Food Heaven will serve a delicious array of southern comfort foods. Spencer said to expect fried chicken, fish, conch fritters, okra, fries, potato salad and more.

Spencer is waiting on inspections and licensing to be finished up, but hopes to open as soon as next week. She'll start attending different events in the area once operational.


Plant Minage

A new plant-based food trailer is coming to South Florida, co-owner Rodney Brown shared with FFBW. Plant Minage aims to bring more delicious plant-based food options to Broward and Miami-Dade counties.

The Plant Minage food truck is planning to debut on January 21st at the Vegan Street Party in Fort Lauderdale. The address will be: 817 NW 1st St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33311.

Vintage

A new wine bar and retail shop is coming to Hollywood soon, owner Tal Cohen told FFBW. Cohen has been in the wine distribution business for years, and he is getting ready to transition into operating his wine bar come March.

They will have wine to enjoy in house, bottles to take home, charcuterie and much more, Cohen said. Find them at: 1955 Harrison St, Hollywood, FL 33020.

MARTIN COUNTY

Chew Time

Chad Fenn, the owner of Chew Time, is bringing a BBQ and hamburger-serving food truck to Stuart soon. Chew Time will offer dishes like ribs, cheese burgers, hot dogs, mac and cheese, baked beans and more.

Currently, Fenn is waiting on inspections to be complete, and he plans to open very soon.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

Honey Buns Kitchen

A new American soul food truck is opening soon in Boca Raton, owner Stephanie Robinson told FFBW. Honey Buns Kitchen will serve classic soul food dishes, along with items like wings, shrimp, fries and more.

Currently Robinson is looking to open on February 24th. Once open, they will attend events and find regular places to stake out.


Where's the Food

A new food truck called Where's the Food is opening in Lake Worth soon, co-owner Juni Renta told FFBW. Where's the Food will serve a blend of latin and American fast foods.

They are planning to open in February. Once operational, they will travel to events and find regular spots to stake out.

LEE COUNTY

The Buffalo Grill

A new, stationary food truck is opening in Fort Myers soon. Co-owner Fred Mallone told FFBW that The Buffalo Grill will be bringing authentic tastes of Buffalo, New York to Fort Myers.

In a large trailer, The Buffalo Grill will sit at Times Square at the beach at: 1021 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931. This will be their permanent location. They will set out tables and chairs for a seating area.

The food will consist of charbroiled hot dogs, burgers, buffalo chicken sandwiches and more. Head over to the website to read more.

COLLIER COUNTY

Everglades Cafe

A new cafe and deli is opening in Everglades City, owner Patricia Briggs told FFBW. Everglades Cafe will be in the same building as the Everglades City welcome center, and Briggs plans to serve visitors coffee, bagel sandwiches, and other beverages.

Currently, Briggs is waiting on the final inspections to be complete, then she will open. Find them at: 207 W Broadway, Ochopee, FL 34141.

LAKE COUNTY

Moe's Southwest Grill

A new location of Moe's Southwest Grill is opening in Leesburg, co-franchisee Parth Patel told FFBW. The restaurant is under construction now.

Patel reported that they are shooting for a February 15th opening; however, it's possible for this date to be pushed back.

POLK COUNTY

Pa' Las Miches Bar and Grill

A new Mexican bar and grill is opening in Lakeland. Pa' Las Miches will be coming to the area by way of over Jordan Alvarez. Co-operator Kris Cavazos told FFBW that the restaurant is planning to open in April.

Pa' Las Miches will be a full-service Mexican restaurant with 120 or so seats inside. They are working on their space at: 1313 N Combee Rd, Lakeland, FL 33801.

This is Alvarez's first foray into restaurant ownership.

BREVARD COUNTY

Gettin' Crabby Crab House

Palm Bay is getting a sister concept of Crabby's Oyster Bar in Jensen Beach. Co-owner Darrin Hoopes told FFBW that Gettin' Crabby is nearly ready, and they are hoping to open as soon as early February.

Expect king crab, snow crab, blue crab, sandwiches, surf and turf and much more. Check out the menu at the Jensen Beach restaurant to get an glimpse into what the full menu will eventually look like in Palm Bay.

Drifter's Surf Restro

A new fast casual concept is opening on Indian Harbour Beach, owner Danny Clark told FFBW. Drifter's Surf Restro is a sister concept to Graffiti Restro Cafe + Wine Bar, which has been open in Costa Rica for 14 years.

Clark reported that Drifter's Surf Restro plans to follow a similar concept to Graffiti: fresh and delicious steaks, seafood, bowls and more. Clark intends for Drifter's Surf Restro to be known for its fresh ingredients and well-prepared dishes. Though not set in stone, he hopes to serve beer and wine as well.

The restaurant will have 24 dine-in seats and offer takeout and nearby delivery. Clark said that the space is about 900 square feet. Find them at: 1875 S Patrick Dr, Indian Harbour Beach, FL 32937.

Currently, they are getting their permits and expect the build out to be a rather quick process. Clark estimates opening in March.

ORANGE COUNTY

Maxtro's

The Los Angeles-born food truck brand Maxtro's is bringing a truck to Orlando soon, owner Zach Maxwell told FFBW. Maxtro's has been operating as a pop-up in the area, but recently closed in preparation for the brand's move into their own vehicle.

Maxtro's is known for serving gourmet comfort food, like wagyu smash burgers, surf and turf and many other offerings. Max reported that they will also be rolling out some new menu items with the truck.

Max, who's originally from Orlando, has spent the past few years bouncing between Orlando and Los Angeles. While Maxtro's is still operating in Los Angeles, he is planning to expand the brand in Florida, namely Orlando and Miami.

The new truck, once open, will spend Thursday-Sunday in downtown Orlando. During the week, Max and his team will travel to various events in the city. Max is looking to open in February.

Sando Bando

Owner Zach Blair is planning to open a new late night comfort food truck in Orlando. Sando Bando will primarily serve handheld foods, like chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches and fries.

The truck will serve the late night crowd once the brick and mortar restaurants close. Blair anticipates opening in the next three weeks or so.

VOLUSIA COUNTY

Pizzeus

Restaurateur Furio Fattori told FFBW that he is opening a take-out pizzeria in the Daytona Beach farmer's market. Currently, he is waiting to begin building out his space.

He plans to serve slices, personal and full-sized pizzas. An exact opening date isn't available yet. Find him at the farmer's market at: 1425 N Tomoka Farms Rd, Daytona Beach, FL 32124.

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY

Grand Hacienda Mexican Restaurant

The sixth location of Grand Hacienda Mexican Restaurant is preparing to open soon in Tampa. Co-owner Claudia Johnson told FFBW that they are working on bringing the new restaurant to the Palms of Carrollwood Shopping Center in the coming months.

Food Spot

Two new food trucks are coming to Hillsborough county by way of entrepreneur Justin Johnson. Food Spot will be the name of the first truck, and it will begin by serving American and Jamaican fusion. Johnson said that they will likely open in a couple of weeks.

Johnson is working on buying another truck as well. Once acquired, he will split the American and Jamaican concept into two separate trucks.

Johnson has had almost decade of experience in the hospitality business, and he's bringing his expertise to to Tampa via the new trucks. Once opened, he plans to stake out in a local food truck park, selling breakfast, lunch and dinner.

PINELLAS COUNTY

Voodoo Brewing Co.

St. Pete will soon see a new location of Voodoo Brewing Company, franchisee Robert Skepnek told FFBW. Skepnek reported that the new brewery will open in March.

Skepnek recently took over the space at 220 4th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33701. Originally, this location was under development by a different franchising group. Skepnek reported that their plans ultimately fell through, and he picked up the location.

Juanita's Food Truck

Owner Cherry Correa told FFBW that she's is planning to open a food truck on March 30th. Correa is a private chef operating under the business name Mindful Eats, and now she is expanding the scope of her operations.

Juanita's will be an elegant food truck serving healthy and delicious foods. Expect rice bowls, vegan foods and much more. The cuisine will reflect hispanic and American traditions.

The truck, Correa said, will be perfect for weddings, corporate events and other such gatherings. They will also travel to different locations throughout St. Pete and Tampa to serve their food.

BAKER COUNTY

Sivada's Cupcakery

The second location of Sivada's Cupcakery is coming to Macclenny soon, franchisee Tasha Johnson told FFBW. Sivada's originated in Jacksonville, and Johnson is opening her very own unit soon.

Sivada's will open in Macclenny on Thursday the 18th of this month. Johnson stated that she is just getting her final paper work sorted out.
