Seafarers House Cafe by Big Chef

An addition to the Seafarer's House in Fort Lauderdale is in the works, operator Emmanuel Calambichis told FFBW. Cafe by Big Chef will open in January, Calambichis said, and will be focused on serving the seafarers that have time to kill near the port.

Aside from the usual American cuisine, Calambichis plans to incorporate a broad range of international recipes in the menu. They will serve breakfast and lunch, and they will also have a happy hour with beer and wine. During the happy hour, Cafe by Big Chef will also offer finger foods and small bites.

Holy Avocado

A third location for the rising Florida brand Holy Avocado is opening in Davie, owner Karla Ibarra told FFBW. Holy Avocado is known for incorporating avocados into nearly every dish they serve. Ibarra said that this is to give all of their customers a good helping of the nutrient-rich fruit.

The new restaurant in Davie is under construction, and Ibarra estimates opening in February. Find the new Holy Avocado at: 7780 Griffin Rd, Davie, FL 33328.

Additionally, new locations will be opening in Sunrise, Jacksonville and Daytona. However, addresses for these restaurants aren't available now.

RJJ Mobile Kitchen

A new Haitian food truck is opening in Palm Beach County, owner Geniel Joseph told FFBW. Along with the usual Haitian food staples, Joseph will serve tacos, sliders and more.

As of now, Joseph is planning to open on January 15. Once open, he will try to find a semi permanent location to serve his food.


Blue Barn Milkshake Bar

A new upscale milkshake and dessert cafe is opening in Winter Garden soon. Owners Enrique and Tracy Mondelo told FFBW that they aim to create an exciting experience for guests with a sweet tooth.

Blue Barn will offer high end milkshakes in jars that guests can rinse and take home with them. With 25 flavors of milkshake, they will have an array of toppings, cookies and Brazilian brigadeiros to accompany the rich sweets.

The flavors and themes of the milkshakes will change with the seasons. Imagine Valentines day shakes, Easter shakes, summer shakes and so forth. Blue Barn will also serve hot chocolate in collectable take home mugs as well.

Mezbaan Tandoori

A new Pakistani take out restaurant is in the works for Longwood, owner Saba Amir told FFBW. Mezbaan Tandoori will feature authentic Pakistani dishes, made by Pakistanis. Additionally, they will offer some Indian cuisine and offer a rather large menu.

Amir said that the is waiting on final licensing to come through before opening. She expects that the take a week or so. Mezbaan Tandoori will open at: 1155 W State Rd 434 #125, Longwood, FL 32750.

Posey's Supper Club & Lounge

A new restaurant and lounge is coming to Sanford soon, owner Tony Posey told FFBW. The details of the supper club are slim for now, as Posey isn't planning to open until February.

We do know, however, that the lounge and restaurant will be open until 2:30 on the weekends for the late night crowd. Posey said that the restaurant and pricing will be accessible and affordable.

Paris Bahn Mi

A new location of Paris Bahn Mi is opening in Fort Myers next year, franchisee Vu Le told FFBW. This will be be Le's first location with the brand.

As of now, an opening date is unavailable, as they haven't commenced construction yet. Paris Banh Mi is known for serving delicious Banh Mi sandwiches and other Vietnamese foods. They have locations across the United States.

Mirna's Cuban Cuisine

Mirna's Cuban Cuisine, which has been serving Sarasota for 7 years, is moving into a new location next year. Owner David Gonzalez told FFBW that the new space will be about twice a large.

With the expanded restaurant, Gonzalez reported that they will add to the menu. The currently menu offerings will remain the same, but they will have a few new items to include.

The new space will allow for about 120 seats, including outdoor seating. Gonzalez reported that they won't shut down the current restaurant until they have a firm opening date for the new one. They are looking at moving in April or May.

Treviso Pizza & Grill

A new fast casual pizzeria and grill is opening in Seminole next month, owner Taso Konstantonis told FFBW. Treviso Pizza & Grill derives its name from the city Treviso in the Tuscany region of Italy. The city is known for its cuisine, which features ribs and other meats.

Konstantonis reported that their menu will feature pizzas, fried or grilled chicken tenders, Italian stye baby back ribs, burgers on Italian garlic bread, paninis on focaccia bread and much more.

Treviso will also offer delivery via their own in-house delivery drivers and takeout. While dining in, guests will enjoy beer and wine.

Brooklyn Pizza Factory

A new pizza and Italian food trailer is debuting next year in Ocala, owner Ruben Dario told FFBW. Dario, who has worked in pizzerias from New York to Orlando, is ready to bring authentic New York style pizza to Central Florida.

Expect to order fresh pizza by the slice, homemade lasagna, homemade pastas, and other cooked to order items like garlic knots and specialty slices. For those extreme foodies and pizza purists, Dario is also using real New York water for his dough. Additionally, Dario will offer breakfast and espresso for the early rising guests.

As of now, Dario is expecting to open in late January. Once opened, he will travel throughout Central Florida.


Kinya Ramen and Mochinut

A new location of Kinya Ramen and Mochinut are in the works for St. Johns. Co-owner Nicholas Chong told FFBW that the two concepts will be distinct, but will open side by side around February.

Conie's Ice Cream

A second location of Conie's Ice Cream is opening in Jacksonville soon, co-owner Brian Kraut told FFBW. Conie's original location has been open for about three years, and Kraut said that they are excited to expand.

The new location is planned to open around the end of March, Kraut said. It will offer a similar menu of delicious ice cream, soft serve, and will also sell freeze dried candy, which the brand ships across the United States currently. Additionally, Conie's is known for baking all of their cookies and brownies in house.

El Bacao Food Truck

A new Puerto Rican food truck is opening in Jacksonville soon, owner Litz Mulero told FFBW. This is Mulero's first foray into food truck ownership. She's managed restaurants previously and is ready to start her own venture.

El Bacao is getting its final licensing and permits currently, and they don't have a clear opening date yet.
