A new two story tiki bar is opening on Key Colony Beach next year, owner Robert Degennaro told FFBW. The restaurant is breaking ground now, and Degennaro expects the build out to take 7-8 months.
Degennaro owns Island Food Group, which has owned and operated 30 restaurants over the years from Florida to Maine. Degennaro reported that right now, he only has Fish Tales to focus on, as he's sold his other restaurants.
The family-style restaurant will be accessible by boat, will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and will offer takeout as well.

Husband and wife Edilberto Morillo and Eliane Mayer Jara are coming together to re-open Redland Ranch. After a $1 million renovation and rebuilding, Morillo told FFBW that he and his team are planning to officially open in January.
The concept will be faithful to what Redland Ranch used to be: a hub for good food, relaxing outdoor experiences, a market and events. Morilla shared his reverence for Redland Ranch with FFBW, and he goal is to "serve the culture Redland Ranch created."
The renovation will bring an expanded and more coherent menu to the restaurant, covered outdoor seating, a stage and music event space, a meeting room, and many other amenities. Expect smoothies, sandwiches, empanadas, wraps, smoothie bowls, salads, chicken salad and much more at the restaurant.
A new neighborhood bar and restaurant is opening soon in Miami, owner Michael Radigan told FFBW. Brightside Miami will serve your classic American bar foods famous in the North East. Expect wings, beef on weck, fried pickles, and much more.
The bar's inspiration comes from Radigan's career in the bar and restaurant scenes of New York and Miami. His aim is to provide a welcoming neighborhood hangout.
His plan is to open in a few weeks. Visit their website to see their menu. Radigan, who is also a baker, will be making their baked good in house.

My Way Street Food
Chef and entrepreneur Betty Burke is opening a food truck soon in Miami. My Way Street Food will serve classic American and Latin American food with Chef Burke's unique twists.
She's been operating as a catering business, and Burke plans to debut this week at La Feria De Las Américas in Taimami Park. She will be serving her dishes on the 8th, 9th, and 10th of December at the festival. Throughout December, she will be going to different events in the area.

A new Neopolitan pizza spot is opening in Miami soon, co-owner Jason Venturi told FFBW. 800Gradi Pizza will serve pizza inspired by Naples, Italy, Venturi said. Their ingredients will be sourced from Italy to ensure that their guests and can enjoy the highest quality Neopolitan pizza available in Miami.
Venturi also reported that their chef if from Naples, Italy, and brings decades of experience with him to 800Gradi Pizza. The concept is planned to open in a couple of weeks, once they get through the last bits of red tape.
Along with pizza, they will offer specials, like lasagna, fried pizza and desserts. Expect Italian espresso as well.

Wood & Waata
A new Caribbean fusion restaurant is opening in Fort Lauderdale soon, owner Casheima Green told FFBW. Wood & Waata will serve a variety of cuisines from the Caribbean, with an emphasis on Jamaican food.
Green owns two other Jamaican restaurants in Philadelphia. She's opening on Fort Lauderdale Beach because Florida was the first place she moved when she came to the United States. Even though she can't always go back to Jamaica, she reports that in South Florida, there is the beach, sun and Caribbean culture.
PALM BEACH COUNTY
The Underground Pizza
A new pizzeria is coming to Palm Beach Gardens soon, owner Cole Herring reported. The Underground Pizza is inspired by the underground music and arts scene made popular by bands like The Velvet Underground.
Herring reported that he's opening The Underground Pizza after many years of experience in the restaurant and culinary world. In California, he and his brother have owned several restaurants. In addition to their specialty deep dish pizzas and thin crust pies, The Underground is expected to serve fresh salads, spicy baked wings and other appetizers.
Currently, Herring is looking at a December 22 opening, but this estimate may change a bit as they finalize details. Find them at: 9920 FL A1AAlt, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.

Rise and Grind
A new breakfast and lunch restaurant is on the rise in Jupiter, owner Susan Connelly told FFBW. Rise and Grind is early on in their development, Connelly said, as they are awaiting for their permits.
Details about the concept are rather slim right now, as Connelly reports that they haven't been able to commence construction yet. Their aim is to open in February. Connelly reported that she's owned and sold restaurants in the past.

Charley's Cheesesteaks and Wings
Franchise Rimon Saad is bringing another location of Charley's Cheesesteaks and Wings to Greenacres. Saad reported that this is his second location, and he intends to continue expanding.
Currently, they are under construction at: 6726 Forest Hill Blvd, Greenacres, FL 33413. An exact opening date is unknown at this time.

A new Mexican and Hawaiian food truck is opening in Brevard soon, owner Adela Ibarra told FFBW. Fire Tacos will serve a menu of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, Hawaiian-style burgers and more.
Ibarra is unsure when they will open, as she is waiting on inspections and final licensing. Follow Fire Tacos on Instagram.
Orlando will soon get another Wayback Burgers, franchisee Simon Field told FFBW. Wayback Burgers is known for sticking to the classics: burgers, fries and shakes.
Field reported to FFBW that Wayback is in the permitting phase. They'll begin construction soon. He estimates opening in Q2 of 2024 if all goes according to plan.
This is Simon and his wife Linda Field's first foray into franchising. The couple expects to continue growing their restaurant portfolio with Wayback Burgers and other brands.
A new food trailer is opening in Orlando soon, co-owner Samantha Leroy told FFBW. Trade Roads will be a hub for handmade pasta, tacos and many other delights.
Leroy shared that they are nearly ready to go. She anticipates opening in mid December if all continues as planned. Once opening, they will likely stake out in the Orlando area semi-permanently. They plan to travel to some events as well.
DD & Tito Johnny Cake Shack
A new Caribbean restaurant is coming to Kissimmee soon, co-owner Tyrone Francis told FFBW. The details of the concept are still slim.
Francis reported that they plan to open around the end of this month. As of now, specific menu items are not available. DD & Tito Johnny Cake Shack will travel to different events to serve its food.
Low and Slow Smokehouse
The North Carolina-based brand Low and Slow Smokehouse is planning to expand into Central Florida. The first location will appear in Lakeland in a couple of weeks.
Owner Daniel Bailey told FFBW that he is waiting on final inspections. Once given approval, they will open in a matter of days, he said. Low and Slow will serve a variety of BBQ, sides and beverages at their bar.
This will be the first of three Low and Slows destined for Polk County, Bailey said. He plans on opening two more restaurants over the next two years.
A new BBQ restaurant is coming to Ellenton from owner William Sweet. Sweet has been in the BBQ and catering business for 25 years. Until now, he's operated ghost kitchens in the area and in Michigan; however, now he is taking the leap and is bringing the area an ambitious concept.
Legacy BBQ will serve more than BBQ, Sweet reported. They'll have two pizza ovens and will freshly grind and patty meat for burgers too. Sweet said that everything will be done in house, made from scratch, with no corners cut. Additionally, Legacy BBQ will keep prices reasonable, Sweet said.
Media presence and more information are forthcoming. Sweet reported that they will likely open during the second week of January.

Pee Wee's Kitchen
A new food truck is opening in the Bradenton area soon, owner Leroy Washington told FFBW. Pee Wee's Kitchen will be a tribute to Washington's mother, who was an experienced and accomplished cook.
Pee Wee's will serve a combination of soul food, BBQ, soups, and salads. Washington is embarking on this venture after retiring from a career in the Marine Corps and local public service. His hopes to benefit his fellow veterans the homeless community of Bradenton.
He will split his time between events and staking out near Manatee Theater in Bradenton. Keep an eye out for them to open on January 11.
Simply Greek II
The second truck in the growing Simply Greek fleet is preparing to open soon, owner Diana Wynnberry told FFBW. The first Simply Greek truck opened 2 years ago and has seen excellent turnout since.
This next truck is opening to fill the gaps of demand that the single truck cannot keep up with. Wynnberry explained that they serve a menu of fresh and healthy Greek food that is popular wherever they go.

Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine
The popular Orlando restaurant brand Bosphorous is coming to Tampa soon, co-owner Mayer Sexter told FFBW. Bosphorous Turkish Cuisine has four restaurants open in Central Florida and four more planned for the greater Tampa area.
The first location, Sexter reported, will open at: 714 S Howard Ave, Tampa, FL 33606. This restaurant is aimed to open in April.
The next location will go to the Wesley Chapel area. Sexter doesn't have an address to share yet. Expect it around September / October 2024.
The third will go to St. Petersburg. No address is available, and they plan to open this restaurant around the beginning of 2025.
Last but not least is Sarasota, where they do not have an opening date to share as of yet.
Sexter said that these new restaurants will have the same menu as the Orlando-area counterparts; however, they will feature a fresh restaurant design.

Bravo New York Pizzeria
FFBW recently touched base with Michael Assante, owner of the forth coming Bravo New York Pizzeria. Assante shared his updated opening estimate for the pizzeria: 2-3 weeks from now.
Originally, we reported that Bravo New York Pizzeria would open this fall; however, they pushed to opening back a bit to be sure everything was ready.

Mi Patio Food Truck
A new food truck is coming to the area soon via owners Carmen and Alejandro Reyes. Mi Patio will serve Dominican fare, like rice, beans, chicken, empanadas and sandwiches.
Carmen reported that they will likely open by the end of the month. Once they are up and running, they will attend festivals and events. Follow them on Instagram to keep up with the brand once they're open.
A new location of the PrimoHoagies brand is opening in Gainesville soon, franchisee William Kulick told FFBW. Kulick owns a PrimoHoagies unit in Jacksonville, and this Gainesville location will be his second.
The brand serves fresh baked hoagie rolls and delicious, Italian style meats to create memorable sandwiches. Kulick reported that he was a long time customer and brand enthusiast before jumping in as a franchisee.
Expect the new deli at: 211 S Main St, Gainesville, FL 32601. Kulick estimates that they will open in March 2024.
A new and fast growing plant based pizza restaurant is moving into Gainesville soon, president Bart Ortiz told FFBW. Wild Pie recently opened their first location in Jacksonville, and Ortiz anticipates having their Gainesville unit toward the end of spring, 2024.
Their plan is to open at 309 NW 13th St #10, Gainesville, FL 32601. Ortiz reported that the brand is also looking to continue expanding in 2024. They are scouting in other cities throughout Florida and nearby states as well.

ST. JOHN'S COUNTY
Island Fin Poke
A new outpost of Island Fin Poke is preparing to open in St. John's soon, franchisee Seth Neiman told FFBW.
Island Fin Poke has location across the United States, and they are known for serving delicious Hawaiian-style poke bowls. Neiman reported that his restaurant is in the construction phase. He's hoping to open sometime in April.
This is his first location with the brand, but Neiman plans to bring another location to the Northeast Florida area. Find this restaurant at: 345 Beachwalk Shore Drive (address not available on Google yet).
A new wine and tapas bar is planning to open in Chipley soon, co-owner Cynthia Cable shared with FFBW. Happei Hour is amidst construction right now, so details about the project are slim.
