Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken

Two new locations of Hangry Joe's Hot Chicken are opening in South Florida this December, co-owner Alex Gavilla told FFBW. The brand is preparing to bring more Nashville-style hot chicken and wings to South Florida.

Gavilla reported that they expect to open in the first week of December, but that at the latest, they will be frying chicken before the end of the year. They are planned to open one location at: 1050 NW 14th St #102, Miami, FL 33136.

And the other at: 5705 N University Dr, Tamarac, FL 33321. Additionally, they are planning to open more units in Central and Northern Florida.

A new location is about to break ground in Tamarac, franchisee Eric Pierce reported to FFBW.

Pierce, who owns Medalist Restaurant Group LLC, said that since they are just now breaking ground, they likely won't open until May of 2024. However, Pierce and Medalist Restaurant Group also owns the Culver's in Margate, which has been open for three years.

Zoey's Pizza Truck

A new pizza truck is opening in the Rooftop at Riverside Food Truck Park soon, Douglas Lester told FFBW. Lester is the father of Zoey, who owns the truck, and he shared that they will likely open during the second week of November.

The truck will serve wood-fired pizza, wings, Caesar salad, Caprese, and more. Look out for them at the park at: 27333 Old 41 Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.


Buffalo Wild Wings Go

Chris Hill, VP of operations for Patel Management, a franchisee group, reported that they are opening two new restaurants in Brevard in the coming months.

Two Buffalo Wild Wings Go's, the quick service counterpart of the sports bar Buffalo Wild Wings, are preparing to open in Melbourne and Rockledge. The first of the two, Hill reported, will be at: 1960 US-1, Rockledge, FL 32955. Hill said that this restaurant will likely open by the end of December.

The second will be at: 1270 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne, FL 32935. This location is planning for a mid-January opening, Hill said.

Additionally, Patel Management is preparing to open BWW Go's in Cocoa Beach and Bayside.

Ice Cream Hut of Palm Bay

The first Palm Bay location of Ice Cream Hut is coming to the area by way of franchisee Anthony Gervasini. The ice cream shop is looking to open toward the end of November, Gervasini reported to FFBW.

This will be the first of a several unit expansion, Gervasini said, as he is the franchise holder for the Palm Bay area. An exact timeline for when the additional units will open is unknown.

El Cilantrillo Restaurant

A fourth location of El Cilantrillo is opening in Kissimmee, brand owner Hiram Turull told FFBW. El Cilantrillo, an upscale Puerto Rican restaurant, was founded by Turull and Dianne Santos in 2017. Now, they're opening their fourth unit.

Turull reported that they will likely open in December. This restaurant will be larger than any of their other locations. Find it at: 5770 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy #130, Kissimmee, FL 34746.

Turull is also the owner of the restaurants Nona's Urban Pizza, and Turulls Boqueria, which are located in the greater Central Florida area.


Bubbakoo's Burritos

A new location of Bubbakoo's is planned to open in Celebration next year, co-franchisee Victor Celli told FFBW. Celli reported that this is a family venture that he and his wife, Stephanie Tovar, are embarking on. This is their first foray into restaurant ownership.

Celli estimates that the restaurant will be open by the end of January. It's address is: 1705 Future Wy, Kissimmee, FL 34747. Check the brand's website.

Skyline Chili

A new restaurant is planning to open soon in Flamingo Crossing, owner Daniel Hunsucker told FFBW. Skyline Chili, which has seen numerous delays since it's inception, is preparing to open this fall.

Hunsucker reported that they were initially hoping to open last year, but delays have continuously pushed their opening date further and further down the road. As of now, the official call is "sometime this fall."

Hunsucker has worked in the restaurant industry since he was a teenager. He's held a food and beverage manager position at Disney, and Hunsucker is now moving on to owning his own franchise.

Wild Cat BBQ

A new BBQ trailer is opening in the Sanford area soon, owner Jay Holdren told FFBW. Holdren, who is a restaurant industry veteran, reports that Wild Cat BBQ will serve chef-driven dishes that offer unique flavors to his guests.

Expect to find island style brisket and pulled pork sandwiches, macaroni and gouda cheese, tangy coleslaw, fries with white queso (that can be topped with brisket or pork). Holdren reports that they will have a soft opening in early December. The official opening date will likely fall in January or February.

Wild Cat BBQ will travel to different events in the area.


Tsaocaa Tea & Michi Ramen

A new location offering bubble tea, ramen, fried chicken, and egg waffles is opening in Lakeland. Franchisee Xiancai Chen reported to FFBW that Tsaocaa Tea & Michi Ramen (pronounced tsoa-cha) will likely open in a couple of months, as they are still readying the space.

Tsaocaa Tea & Michi Ramen have several locations across the United States, and they are also opening several in Florida. They're known for a wide range of boba, ramen, and fried chicken offerings. Visit the website for more info.

Benny's Chicago Style Hot Dogs

Owner Sean Moran is preparing to open Benny's Chicago Style Hot Dogs in downtown Sarasota soon. Moran reported that he plans to open in the next few weeks.

He will offer Chicago-style hot dogs, chips, drinks, and dessert. Moran, who's from Chicago, is following in the footsteps of his late father, who ran a multi-unit hot dog business in Chicago.

In addition to serving hot dogs from the cart, Moran will offer catering services as well. Follow the brand's Facebook.

Bounty of the Sea Food Trailer

Owner Derek Galipeau reported to FFBW that he will soon open his Bounty of the Sea concept. The trailer will serve lobster and crab rolls, seafood pasta, and other related dishes.

Dairy Kurl

The popular Dairy Kurl ice cream and desert shop that's been around since 1953 is expanding into two new locations, co-owner Morton Myers reported to FFBW. The first location, where they are expected to launch on November 3, will be at: 310 Main St, Safety Harbor, FL 34695.

The Safety Harbor unit will reflect their original unit. They will offer walk-up service, where guests can enjoy their treats outside.

Following that, expect to see their third location open in December. It will open at: 1606 Achieva Way, Dunedin, FL 34698. This dessert shop will offer indoor seating, Myers reported.

355 Coffee Trailer

A new coffee trailer is in the works for the St. Petersburg area, owner Armando Lagji told FFBW. 355 will serve a variety of specialty and straightforward coffee and tea drinks.

An exact opening date isn't available right now, Lagji reported. They are currently waiting to go through the inspection process.

Trash Panda Eatery

A new food truck is in the works for the Clearwater area, owner Matthew Hallett told FFBW. Trash Panda Eatery is planning to open on November 11th and attend an event that very day.

Hallett reported that they will serve their very own rendition of a "Garbage Plate," which is a dish native to western New York. It includes a base of fries, mac and cheese, or baked beans. Then, it's topped with either two smash burgers or NY-style hot dogs, and then covered with cheese, onions, and hot sauce.

Additionally, they will offer smash burgers, NY-style hot dogs, and other comfort foods. Everything on the menu will have a vegetarian version as well. View the brand's website here.


Phoenix Restaurant

Co-owner Kasem Nabha told FFBW that he and his business partners are getting ready to open Phoenix, a Lebanese restaurant. As of now they are hoping to open in a month to a month and a half.

Nabha shared that they will likely serve Lebanese food, but that nothing is particularly set in stone. Expect to enjoy a full-service dining experience.

Moe's Southwestern Grill

Wesley Chapel will soon see a new location of Moe's Southwestern Grill, co-franchisee Aman Patel told FFBW. This will be the first of four restaurants Patel will open.

Patel reported that they will open in the first week of January. Following this, they will open three more locations in Pasco County. Patel is also a franchisee of Marco's Pizza, and he owns several units of the pizzeria in the area as well.

Dang Good Sushi

A new location of Dang Good Sushi is in the works for downtown New Port Richey, co-owner Patrick Dang told FFBW. The new restaurant is poised to open in mid-December or early January.

The brand began during covid as a food truck, Dang said. He and his wife Ashly moved into a brick and mortar space in Trinity, and now, they're working on their third location (food truck included).

The New Port Richey restaurant will have its own menu and a sake lounge in the back of the restaurant, where they will hold sushi pop-up events occasionally.

Downhome D Food Truck

Owner Dorena Gochanour told FFBW that she has recently opened her food truck Downhome D. She is serving an array of dishes like handmade paninis, wraps, burgers, parmesan fries, chicken tenders and more.

Right now, Dorena is stationed at 208 E Fort Dade Ave, Brooksville, FL 34601. She is opened on Thursdays and Friday starting at 11. Check out the Downhome D Facebook page for updates.


Nature Coast Bar and Grill

A new neighborhood bar and grill is opening in Homosassa, owner Braden Thurber told FFBW. Nature Coast Bar and Grill will be a nautically theme hangout that will serve seafood and bar-style foods.

Nature Coast is planned to open on November 15, Thurber reported. They've revamped a rundown building at: 10350 W Yulee Dr, Homosassa, FL 34448.

Thurber said that this is his first foray into restaurant ownership. As of now, they are still developing their web presence.

Flaming Gator Grill

Owner Ricky Llewellyn reported to FFBW that he is opening a new concession trailer in the Citrus Springs area. Flaming Gator Grill will reflect Llewellyn's West Virginia roots, as he will be offering the foods known to that area.

Expect loaded baked potatoes, waffle bowls, pulled pork, chicken, beef, and more. Currently, Llewellyn is waiting to be go through inspections and will open very soon.

Waves Coastal Kitchen

Couple and owner duo Karin Nottage and David Virgil are opening their food truck Waves Coastal Kitchen very soon. Nottage reported that the official opening date is October 30, and their first event is scheduled for November 3.

Nottage and Virgil have been in the restaurant business for over 30 years, with Virgil's experience being on the culinary side, and Nottage's in the front of house, customer service side.

They will offer a unique menu that changes based on each event, but you can expect a blend of seafood, comfort food, soups, and more.
